The current situation at the temporary school is unsustainable. A separate school canteen is needed for the children, for hygiene and convenience.

Children have to eat inside the classroom, where dropped food attracts ants and other creatures. The food is prepared offsite and brought in by motorcycle before lunch - not ideal during rainy season especially. When meals are finished the children must wash their own utensils at a tap behind class, which can get quite muddy with all the water slopping around during the process.

A dedicated canteen can prepare and deliver meals onsite, and have proper sinks built in for washing up. The building can also be utilised for other activities as and when required.

The students need a separate canteen area, which can also be used for other activities during the day. The canteen will include a kitchen for preparing lunches and washing up.
