The foundation has bought its own land (6.5 Rai, which is roughly 2.5 acres), in Fang district, Chiang Mai. We have worked in this area since 2008, running a programme to open schools in rural and remote areas which lack easy access to education. In the first year, 2018, we are building the infrastructure for the new school, as well as a farmstay on the same site which will generate income to support the running costs.

Financial constraints limit the initial setup to three kindergarten classes and Primary Grade 1 class. As each year passes we will add a new class to accommodate those moving to the next year, as well as new registrations for kindergarten.

At the time of opening (May 2018) we have 118 children registered, with 109 attending on the first day. This is more than double the number in the kindergarten which we ran at the local government school until we finished in February 2018.

The farmstay will be run as environmentally friendly as possible. We intend to use solar panels to generate our electricity, refrain from using chemical fertilisers and pesticides, and grow crops which can be sold to generate income. Paying guests will spend their time relaxing, or if they wish they can help with the farm work and even teaching.

The future of the school has had a promising start, and with the help of the local community, volunteers, friends and staff, we believe it has a bright future - one which will hopefully become a model to be used across the region.
